Why Art

At the age of 10, I had to decide between Music and Painting, and bowing my complete reverence towards Music, I picked the brushes and paints: a decision never to regret, a perfect regalia to harmonize my disposition. Being a person always withdrawn and reserved, I found an exclusive realm of ecstasy and respite through Art, that helped me to fathom my own distinctiveness. Art has become that therapy which has been instrumental in detaching me from unsolicited and attaching me to every pertinent aspect to have a better life. So is Art for every artist and has given meaning to many lives.
I have always discussed the reward of having art as an interest, the best being self-satisfaction: you have authority to retire to an exclusive corner and embark upon a journey to appreciate self-worth. Artists never intent to receive acclaim, they seek no audience, their quest is a sublime voyage of fulfillment. Nevertheless, true art always invokes eternal admiration and captivates any and every bystander. Artists create their own boat to sail, rather than floating with what is available, theirs is a journey to observe their special knack: great artists strive to practice individual styles and those who have succeeded have established a tradition. There is no bad art and no wrong technique, anything that appeals to human eye are being recognized. So, before you begin your journey, before you take up a painting, always realize your purpose: never paint because everyone is painting, never limit yourself to what’s already done. As you paint, you effort to portray actuality through your own eyes, the way you conceive it.
Art makes you observant and enables you to perceive and confer glory even in things conventionally considered as mundane. As I always believe, artists are the chosen ones who are specially blessed to nurture and encourage beauty to God’s creation, to glorify the vivid flora and fauna, to immortalize mortality. If you are able to realise beauty of His creations, you can impart the same in your works.
It’s a hard reality that most artists in history had lived humble life, were never acclaimed or recognized during their lifetime, but life’s worth is not measured through prosperity one enjoys: it’s measured through worthy accomplishments one leaves behind life.

  2. Ba I wish I could have used brush and colours the way you do …so that I could have given an outlet to all my feelings ……Art indeed is a therapy in whatever form it may be. Such a firm decision at such a tender age of 10 and the justice you did to your decision ….Just move on ba and contribute more to this beautiful world of Art……I have been in love with your art since University days ( it would have been earlier if would have met so) and am still loving it more & more 😍.
